Our Moon that is not “ours”

In our just recently posted article "Earth Without A Moon - Pre-Lunar Civilizations", we wrote that there was a time in the early history of our planet, some 100 million years ago, or even less when there was no Moon in the sky.

That is true; the Moon, unusually large compared to its parent planet (Earth) was not with us all the way from the beginning. It appeared later in the sky and since then it has accompanied Earth on its yearly voyage around the Sun.
The Moon, an almost perfect sphere of unnatural origin, remains in a deep though strange relationship to the Earth. It is aligned on the same plane as the Earth. It circles our planet in a perfect circular orbit and keeps always the same face toward us.
Strangely it is also accurately distanced and aligned with our star, the Sun. The Moon is 1/400th the size of the Sun keeping also 1/400th the distance of it!

Not long ago, Hubble scanned for possible Moon base locations and many ambitious "back to the Moon" plans were made. Our artificial companion certainly would be an ideal astronomical location for placing launch vehicles, robotic and human exploration systems. A lunar outpost would also scan the sky for possible threats from space and deflect them from earth.

But the question is: why haven't we been back to the Moon in so many years?
